Included with your admission are unlimited trolley rides for the day - undoubtedly the favorite part of any visit to the Trolley Museum. Since 1940, volunteers have been restoring old trolley cars and reconstructing the rail line which you ride over. Today you can take a 3 mile round trip ride on a variety of restored trolley cars from many different cities. Take a seat and enjoy the relaxing ride.

Once part of the Hartford & Springfield Street Railway system, construction of the tracks from Warehouse Point towards Rockville started in 1905. By Thanksgiving of that year, the Hartford & Springfield was able to start service to Broad Brook. In 1906 the branch line was completed to Rockville. Like many trolley lines across the country, the trolley cars were replaced with buses. The Hartford & Springfield closed in 1926 - twenty years of trolley service on the Rockville Branch. The Museum has been running trolleys longer than many trolley companies existed.
