September 10th BoD Meeting Agenda --- available here
August 26, 2008
To: CERA Members
Subject: Scrap Sales
Dear fellow members:
Over the years, it has been a concern of many members, including your Board of Directors as to what can be sold as scrap vs. what is needed to restore our collection. In an effort to raise funds, Management has begun to sell scrap metal that is NOT part of the collection or is needed in any way by the Museum. In the process items were taken in error by our scrap dealer. Luckily, Chris found they were missing and we were able to recover them before they were lost forever. These parts have been returned to the Museum. All indications is that it was a mistake and not intentional. John, Chris & Galen have met with the scrap dealer to be sure this does not happen in the future. In light of the potential for this happening again, I have asked the Collections Committee to develop a policy to present to your Board of Directors on September 10th for review and, hopefully, adoption. Because of his very strong concern, Chris Chestnut has started the process. If you have any information that will help the members of the committee in this effort, please contact Steve, Galen, Chris or Xian. We have made much progress in the past couple of months in
working together for the common good of the Museum. This is another area where
cooperation will help us become the

Didn't make the "Post Winterfest Meeting"? Read about it here and it's not too late to get your ideas in to the office for consideration.
Many are trying to improve the CTM experience by offering new ideas and direction ... how about some input from you?
Fellow members; Meeting minutes are a relatively accurate method to track the behind-the-scenes thought processes that direct the next stages of CTM operations and an insight into how and where your membership fees are being directed. If you cannot make the actual get-togethers, view the results and be aware of the attitudes and directives of the Board Members. You may wish to ask questions and/or add your perspectives at the next meeting. This is YOUR MUSEUM…

Shaw's Receipt Rewards Program
We are currently participating in the Shaw's Receipt Rewards Program. For every $5000 in receipts that we present to Shaw's, we will receive $50. Please help by saving your ORIGINAL RECEIPTS from Shaw's or Star Supermarkets then mail or drop them off at the Museum.
The monies received from this program will be used for general operating expenses as well as restoration and maintenance costs. Added July 27th
SHAWS MARCH '08 UPDATE
We have just received our second check from Shaw's Supermarkets for $46.69. We have collected $3943 in receipts so far for our third batch. If you have receipts for goods purchased at Shaw's Supermarkets or Star Markets, please send them to the museum, Attn: Tim Lesniak, so we are able to get this money. Currently we are sending in packages to Shaw's approximately once every 2.5 months. My goal is to be able to send receipts every 1.5 months and to achieve that by the end of the year. This is something that you can do to help raise money for the museum at no cost to yourself. Tim Lesniak |
